This review is from: Celebrations: The Complete Book of American Holidays (Hardcover)
I saw and read this book several years ago and found it informative and interesting. I was pleased to find it on Amazon. “Celebrations:…” delves into the origins of American as well as British holiday celebrations and traditions with seeming unbias. It is eye-opening to see the roots of what are passed off today as “Christian” celebrations. The author does not discourage participation in the rituals and traditions of holidays, but does make the reader think about what he has been practicing without thought since childhood.

This book is excellent for finding information on how many of the holidays came to be celebrated, the traditions, the truth and the lies about them. It’s very interesting because most of these holdays are said to be of pagan origin, not devine.
Sincerely,
Genevieve

This is an excellent book. I purchased it as a gift for someone who wanted it. It talks about the origin of holidays and traditions that many people practice. It is an eye opener as to the pagan origin of many traditional beliefs. Enlightening.
